Reconstruction of Silesia Ostrava Castle

After the reconstruction, the Silesian Ostrava Castle became one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ostrava. Countless cultural and social events take place at the castle and in its surroundings, such as Majáles, Street Festival, Summer Shakespeare Festival, Jazz Open and many others. Thanks to its location at the intersection of popular cycle paths, the castle is destined to become a favorite excursion destination offering visitors not only relaxation, but also a glimpse into Ostrava’s history with attractive exhibitions.

The reconstruction of the castle took place in 3 stages.

1. Renovation of the stone walls of Silesian Ostrava Castle

Description of the work: Repairing the walls – removing damaged stones, inserting new ones, repairing masonry, impregnation treatment.

2. Renovation of the southern wall of Silesian Ostrava Castle

Description of the work: Repairing the walls – removing damaged stones, inserting new ones, repairing masonry, impregnation treatment.

3. Terrace of Silesian Ostrava Castle

Description of the work: Newly built structure on the grounds of Silesian Ostrava Castle, the ground floor contains a bricked part lined with stone – it functions as a social area + social facilities. Upper part – an open wooden superstructure functioning as a terrace. Wooden and steel staircase.
